Can I with CSVI PRO make an existing product a child product of a new parent?
If yes, how would I do this? Sorry for my total ignorance...

Hello,
You can do that by importing both the parent and child product with the fields product_sku and product_parent_sku. On the parent you leave the product_parent_sku empty and for the child you set the product_parent_sku field to the value of the parent SKU.
This will simply link them as parent/child, it doesn't set any other options though. Just so you know
