When exporting, I get odd characters with some item or category names. This is because I have scandinavic characters with them,namely characters like
ä
ö
They look right in Virtuemart, but after export, in product name they are replaced with strange replacement characters.
How to fix this?

When you open the exported file make sure you open it as a UTF-8 file and not ANSII for example.

Thank you for the answer, it lead me to correct way. At first there was just some cache issue or similar, caused by some other component, as the export files from CSVI Pro also contained odd characters. After restoring site from backup and trying again the export was OK.
