Imported items with CSV file written with OpenOffice format UTF-8.
Imported successfully with all specified fields filled and published set at 1. Joomla back end admin registered the items, but they do not show on the front end web site.
As a control, I made another item from Joomla admin and populated the same fields and categories. The item shows up on the web site.
The categories were set up with Joomla admin, not via CSV.
I have attached the CSV import file in case I have left anything out.
I have tested importing a dummy part (see file). What happens is that during importing a parallel (virtual?) category is created (and set as published) instead of the item being imported into the Virtuemart created category.
In Virtuemart back end, there are two Global categories. instead of only the one which I manually created.
In other words, the CSV created categories do not publish.

Hello,

I will need the debug log, as requested at the top of the page, to have any idea what happens during your import. Please post your debug logs and I will check what happens.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hello,

The debug file did not attach. Make sure you are uploading a zip file and not a php file.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hello,

Looking at the debug log I do see that the products are being set to published.
UPDATE `wya_virtuemart_products` SET `virtuemart_vendor_id`='1',`product_parent_id`='0',`product_sku`='G-TEST',`product_weight`='1',`...,`layout`='0',`published`='1',... WHERE `virtuemart_product_id`='266'
So this leaves us with a few options. If you are using SEF, do you see the same issue when SEF is off? If you are using cache, do you see the same issue when cache is off? Let's check that first.

The product is there as you can see it in the backend, so just need to see why the frontend won't show it.
Kind regards,

RolandD

I have tried all the permutations of SEF on / off and cache off/ on. The same issue remains.
This issue seems to be confined when a new item is uploaded onto the site. If an existing item is modified, for example stock level, there is no issue.
If importing a new item via CSV with a category path, a virtual category of the target category is created, flagged as published but does not display, neither the item nor the virtual category. The back end shows the new category and item as published.
Attached are the debug logs and a text file showing the procedures and the results.
Cache handler set to "file".

Hello,

Can you sent me a private message with the URLs and login details for the website, FTP and database? I will take a look for you to see why they don't show up. Nothing stands out in the debug log, especially since you see the products in the shop itself I don't think there is a problem with the import. If it would be an import problem, more people would have the issue.
Kind regards,

RolandD
