Resolved Installation failed

You can't update CSVI 5 to CSVI 6. CSVI 6 has to be a clean installation. So you will need to remove your old installation completely before installing CSVI 6.

I am struggling here too?

I uninstalled CSVi 5 via extension manager, then tried to install CSVi6.0beta6 and get an error? See screenshot.

Can you advise what I may need to do here?

Hello Andy,

You must not only uninstall CSVI 5 but also remove the database tables that start with csvi_. After you have done that and all is clean, you can install CSVI 6 beta.

I deleted/drop all tables that started with CSVI_ & double checked.
Deleted com_csvi from components & admin folder & also deleted csvirules folder from plugins.

Upon trying to reinstall CSVI6.obeta5 I get another error;

511 COM_CSVI_ADDON_MAINTENANCE_NOT_FOUND

Looking in the database, I see all the tables have been installed, component & admin folder have returned, etc so looks like it its getting most of the way?

Also If I try to install again straight after, I get this error;
Table 'w3094_csvi_availablefields' already exists SQL=RENAME TABLE `w3094_csvi_available_fields` TO `w3094_csvi_availablefields`;

I tried deleting all CSVI folder, database tables & tried again, with the same results.

Has anyone else had this issue, I have & do you have any advice for me?

That error seems to me that not all files are copied because it can't find the maintenance file.

This definitely says something is wrong because Joomla is trying to do a new install instead of an update.

You are trying to install on Joomla 3, correct?

You said you are installing beta 5, download beta 6 and see if that makes any difference. First clean the system again of course.

This is a J3.4.1 site

This is trying beta6 not beta5.

I tried cleaning everything out and reinstalling with a fresh downloaded version of beta6 , with same results?

I have been testing the installation and was able to get the error COM_CSVI_ADDON_MAINTENANCE_NOT_FOUND to show up. This happened because CSVI was not fully installed.

My suggestion would be to copy the files manually to the server. You can do this by creating the folder com_csvi in the folder administrator/components. Copy the content of the admin folder in the CSVI archive to the folder administrator/components/com_csvi. In the folder components create the folder com_csvi. Copy the content of the site folder in the CSVI archive to the folder components/com_csvi. After that try installing the package again via the Extension Manager. All files should be in the correct place now.
