Hello,
You have an older CSVI version installed it seems, please uninstall any CSVI version you have and after that remove all the tables from the database that start with csvi_. After that you can install CSVI 6 as a clean installation.

Thanks. It installs now.
However I cannot use fields in my template, even after I check available fields. It shows the fields in maintenance, but they're not visible in my template.
I tried uploading the template examples xml but no success either.
In the template when clicking NEW it shows:
COM_CSVI_NO_AVAILABLE_FIELDS_FOUND

What do you get after you click the Update button on the Available fields page? If that doesn't help check the Installation or updating of CSVI 6 document all the way at the bottom, it has an item called Missing available fields.

Hi,
Please see attached printscreen of what I get when I update the available fields.
I still get the same error when opening a template that there are no available fields.
Also I did the reset instructions and did not help.

For which extension are you looking for the available fields? I see you have not installed any of the additional addons, so you can use it now only for Joomla categories and Joomla content.

I see, I have now installed VM addon, for I use it with VM.
However still, even after updating fields again, I get the message.
Which message?

There must be something wrong with that template. I created a new template as you can see and that opens just fine.

I have a similar issue:
Tried to install CSVI v6.1.2 and got the same error message:
Warning Unknown column 'csvi_setting_id' in 'field list' SQL=INSERT IGNORE INTO aw2hd_csvi_settings (csvi_setting_id, params) VALUES (1, '');
My system is Joomla 3.4.4, but I am installing for the first time, not updating.

Hello,
Sounds like you had some old tables left in your installation. In your database, remove all tables that start with csvi_ and/or csvivirtuemart_. After that uninstall CSVI from Joomla if it is there. After that you can install CSVI 6 again.
