I've already finished uploading several imports and no problems but I have this recurring issue of values shown differently. Attached is a screenshot. File being uploaded is CSV and is UTF-8. No debug log as I get this on preview and I normally cancel this. I've also attached the file I want to upload.

Hoping for a solution on this.

Thanks in advance!

Hello,
do you see the issue every time you try to import the same file? I tried with the attached CSV file and dont see any issue in preview. Attached image for reference. Please provide more info to track the issue.

Thank you.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hi Tharuna,

I'm really thinking it's the content or the encoding, This happens with other files USING THE SAME DATA but other files no problem. I uploaded manufacturer import earlier no problem. the file is UTF-8 So I really have no idea where to find solutions. Did you check the preview image I attached? It's showing "GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE" in the category fields WHICH IS CLEARLY not in the csv I provided and I'm trying to import.

Thanks.

Hello,
Yes, i saw the screenshot you had sent for preview, just confirming if you have tried the same file once again since the content is different from the file. The same file when i try to import looks good on preview.

Thank you.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hello,

The only reason I can think of is that your file is uploaded to a location that already has files and CSVI picks up the first file it finds in that folder.

Since you posted you are using CSVI 6.2.0, please update to version 6.3.0 as it contains some fixes for handling the file upload location.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hi Roland,

Updated to latest. However I got a new error. See screenshot, It's obvious that it's a permission issue. However I checked under tmp folder and looked into com_csvi IT COPIED THE ENTIRE JOOMLA INSTALL and inserted it there. . . why did that happen? I was expecting this was the folder where CSVI would put the uploaded file so I wanted to check and clear those.

I'm working both on my local pc and on a development server. I just checked the tmp folder in the development site and the issue also occurs CSVI makes tmp folder and copies all files there. is this CSVI or Joomla I doubt this would be a joomla issue.

Hello,

why did that happen?
That could be one of two reasons, first you don't have the regular settings for the tmp folder, or the template has never been saved twice. That is why I asked to update also because this has been fixed in this version.

So let's start by clearing the tmp/com_csvi folder so there is nothing in there. Once that is done, go to the About page in CSVI and check that all permissions are OK and all needed folders exist. After that open the template you want to use for import and click on Save & Close. Now go to Import and check if you can preview the file and import it.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hi Roland,

Before you posted back I tried re-installing CSVI using 6.3.0 and when I try to install the virtuemart add-on the page goes white blank. Error handling is maximum no php errors. and I also tried installing other extensions if it's isolated and have no issues except for the virtuemart add-on. I also installed customfields for all and working and installed fine.

Hello,

no php errors
That is because error reporting is turned off, a blank page means there is a fatal error but it is not being displayed. My guess is that the update of the available fields takes too long, which results in a timeout. The plugin will have been installed but the fields are not updated. So the update can be done from CSVI as well.
Kind regards,

Can you point me where to install the virtuemart add-on, or can you reference me a guide. I can't seem to find it in the CSVI panel. I can't do it via joomla as you said it times-out.

Despite the time-out, isn't the plugin installed? You should see VirtueMart in the Maintenance -> Tasks list in CSVI, if you see it there, you should be OK to use it.
