Hi,
While i'm testing the component, i find some issues on my side
As I'm french, i use a lot of simple quote in products names.
So, it is possible to find product with the name "Mon produit c'est son nom" (it is an example
Then, when i have imported the product, i have in results the quote replaced by ?#39; html code...
If i edit the product or the database to correct the quote, it works well after, but i have to find the correct way to avoid this issue...
Thanks for the help

Hello Xavier,
I use the same VirtueMart version and quotes are correct to me.
LOL.. I guess import is aware that video is made for me
In your import template settings on File tab set Use file for configuration to No, save the template and run the import. This setting will tell RO CSVI to use headers from template and not column headers in file. See if you can import short product description after that.
To enable debug log, in your template settings on Details tab set Enable logging to Yes, save the template. You will then see debug log of your import instead of No debug log available.
I use VirtueMart 3.6.10 10211
And unbelievable... i do it again to verify, i get the ?#39; in my list.
To show you, i start again to show you in video... and tried 3 times to show you.... THE QUOTES WAS CORRECT !!!!

I cant understand... maybe an evil devil playing with me (it was showing the code in the first test before recording the video !!!)... Why is this working well when i want to show you ?

I complete this with the video i made : you will see another issue i see here.
In my import file, i have the short desc product, the name in my file is "resume" (résumé in french means short desc).
Now, even if i have this "resume" in the csv file, it does not import the content...

Hi Tharuna
The debug log show : No debug log available
and the file is very "simple", i use the import example for product with a csv file like this :
product_sku~product_name~manufacturer_name~category_path~resume~product_parent_sku~published~dispo
So nothing "exotic" here
Check for example the product name like the one i put in bold here.
You can see also that I have changed the separator symbol for the import (to avoid issue with comma in description for example)
Thanks for your help

Hello Xavier,
The document linked in my previous reply helps you to enable debug log for your import. Please enable the log and post the debug log.
So i ran import with the example you posted and don't see the ?#39; html code. Check the attached screenshot. Which version of VirtueMart are you running?

Hi Tharuna,
Sure, it shows the quote in your results, as mine, but in the database, it is encoded in the table with ?#39;
I had to manually correct all the product name : open each one, save.
This is shown in example with children products in a dropdown : all the html entities are not decoded...
Thanks for the help

Hello Xavier,
The values in my database seems fine and so i asked which VirtueMart version you are using.
Can you share a screenshot of this?
Please post your site administrator login details and (S) FTP details to check. Let me take a look at your site and see what is going on. You can post the details in Site tab under your reply.

Mistery for me... If this is happening again, i will then show you a page.
I complete this with the video i made : you will see another issue i see here.
In my import file, i have the short desc product, the name in my file is "resume" (résumé in french means short desc).
Now, even if i have this "resume" in the csv file, it does not import the content...
Check the video, you'll see (start à 5'30'') for the short description import..
As this is 12,5Mo, i put it here on my dropbox : https://www.dropbox.com/s/3qvwm52v3ek5wf7/csviissue-2020-04-23_13-01-48.mkv?dl=0
(so mad to not be able to show you, as if this happened before and i don't know why, for me, my issue remains...).
Thanks for your answer and your time Tharuna

Hello Xavier,
Yes the component is more developed and we do not expect our users to get all the features with one import We do understand the difficulties in using the component for new users.
Glad to know that your issues are fixed.
You can raise a new ticket when you have the issue again. I would love to meet your little devil
