Hello,

use stockable Custom Fields
I had to search for that plugin since I don't know which plugin this is. I found out that this is another plugin from Breakdesigns. I can tell you that this plugin is not supported by CSVI.

The Custom Fields For All plugin is supported but the stockable Customfields is not. VirtueMart 3 comes with the Multi Variants plugin which is supported by CSVI 6 and this seems to do the same as the Stockable Customfields plugin.

So I can help you with the Custom Fields For All or with the Multi Variants with CSVI 6. Let me know how you want to continue.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hi Rolandd,

I have the same issue as the original poster. I have been using Stockable Custom Fields because it is so much easier to understand how to set the product variants than using VM 3's built in multi-variant. Not to mention VM's documentation on VM 3 is almost non-existent, and what's there is horribly unclear, especially for multi-variants.

Would you mind helping me understand how to use multi-variants so I can use CSVI to import products, child products, and all the corresponding variants?

Here's what I need to accomplish... for just one parent product, there are 72 child products, each with a unique SKU. Each product has 4 ramifications: Number of Shelves, Shelf Type, Length and Depth. The values for each ramification are:
Number of Shelves: 1, 2, 3
Shelf Type: Tubular, Channel, T-Bar, Solid
Length: 36, 48, 60
Depth: 20, 24

Each of the 72 child products has a separate price that is determined by choosing the options above.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

By the way, I have gone through the multi variant tutorial. I was able to get the parent product and child products imported, but had no success on the multi variant custom fields or values. I'm not fully understanding how to update the Available Fields properly.

Never mind on my above plea for help. I managed to use a combination of CSVI product imports and a suggestion from the developer of Stockable Custom Fields to manipulate the database directly to associate the parent products with the imported child products and their corresponding custom fields. Worked very well for my purposes.

Would be great in the next CSVI release to include support for Stockable Custom Fields - I saw that you are in talks with the developer on doing so. Unfortunately, I couldn't wait for that with a fast approaching deadline. Thanks.

Glad to hear things worked out Mark.

Indeed I am working on implementing support for the Stockable Custom Fields but it isn't ready yet. Perhaps it may be of use to you in the future.
Kind regards,

RolandD
