Hello,

i just bought CSVI Pro yesterday. When i try to import a product list from a CSV File which contains data with German Umlaute like ä,ö,ü, etc. the product name will be imported, but cut off before the first Umlaut. For example: "Gummidichtung für Motor" is cut off to "Gummidichtung f". What can i do to import these, that i cann see the full discription name of the article.

Thanks.

Axel

Hello Axel,

Your file must be UTF-8 encoded, in your case it is not so the words are cut off. See the Save a CSV file as UTF-8 for more details.
Kind regards,

Hello,
I have the same issue during export. After opening the exported CSV in Excel the Umlaute are not displayed properly i.e. "über" becomes "über". I did set "Excel CSV" to yes and read the file as UTF-8 when opening in Excel.
Thanks.

Hello Julius,

Umlaute are not displayed properly i.e. "über" becomes "über".
I don't see the difference between these words?

The Excel CSV option just adds a BOM because Excel otherwise can't really identify UTF-8 files. The file exported is definitely UTF-8 because all data stored in Joomla is stored as UTF-8.
Kind regards,

RolandD
