Hi
I try in various way to import child and parent products (virtuemart 3.0.6.2 joomla.3.4.0)
example :
Sku value
Product1 >parent (not ordinable)
product1-S >child size S
product1-M >child size M
product1-L >child size L

With generic child variant is ok but it's not possible assign custom labels on child product fields (we can only assign values like product_name , product sku , product alias etc) , so i look for a more professional result.

With Customfieldsforall it'no possible make this kind of import

With Csv 6 beta 5 (perhaps multi variant will be the best way to make this import) i get internal server error 500
and i can't solve it .
Can you help me please?

Sorry for my english
Regards

Hello,

The multi variants are a more advanced version of the generic child variants.

The internal server error has been seen before and it happens if you run PHP 5.3 it can generate this error. Solution is to use an up-to-date version of PHP. Minimal is 5.4 but higher would be better.

See if that solves the issue.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hello Christian,

If a higher PHP version gives the same error, then it is not the PHP version ;)

Please read the article 500 Internal Server Error. It gives some things you can check.
Kind regards,

Hi Roland
-I Try with others Php versions
-I check priviliges on the tmp/com_csvi folder
-I try to disable images to see if it worked
-I go on the server log error

Without find a solution to do import with CSV 6

(It is possible i have this problem because of my website is in a folder?)

so I worked with Csv 5 without problems , but I'm not able to use Csv 6!

i think my only chanche is to use "generic child" with his limit...

Hello Christian,

so I worked with Csv 5 without problems , but I'm not able to use Csv 6!
The architecture between these 2 versions is very different.

-I go on the server log error
What error message is there in the server log regarding the internal server error? The server would log errors for this, if not, that would be pretty bad.

Do you get the same error when you import for example only product_sku and product_name?
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hello Christian,

The server error log you posted, is not the server error log, it is the webserver error log and a missing image won't cause an internal server error. Did you ask your hosting provider for the error?

If you get it with even a simple import like that, something must be triggered on the server. Let's see what your hosting provider can tell us. With the real error, we will know where to look.
Kind regards,

RolandD
