Hi,

First time ive tried to use CSVi for joomla content import (normally just use it for virtuemart) & seem to be struggling.

First I installed 5.15pro and saw some errors so I uninstalled and installed 5.18pro in a Joomla 3.3.1 site hosted on siteground servers.

I have set up a joomla content import template and trying to import the attached csv file. But every time I do I get the below error.
I have deleted the template, recreated and checked setting but cant seem to fix this?

Can you advise anything I might be doing wrong?

Thanks,
Andy

Oops something went wrong.

Let me try to show the warning below here. If nothing shows up then I didn't get any data, sometimes this is caused by faulty plugins.

Cancel the import and check if all settings are correct and try the import again. Status error: 200 Status message: OK

Hey Andy,

I see from the error you get that the error reporting is set to pretty much maximum. You can set this to None in the Joomla Configuration -> Server tab -> Error reporting. This will stop these notices from appearing.

The undefined offset is something I will check but at first look it seems there is no 'root' category entry present in your installation. This should actually be there but it may be another cause. For now it is no reason for any concern since it isn't there, CSVI doesn't have to remove it.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Ah OK, Thanks for that

Can I set up an import CSV to create a category structure as well, or do I need to create categories first?

The article import will automatically create categories based on the category_path field if it doesn't find any category.

Sorry, I just tried this and cant figure out whats gone wrong.

I imported the attached csv file, all seemed to have worked and the log detailed showed 8 records processed, but upon looking in the content manager, there is no new articles?

Have I missed something else here? In this case the category already exists?

Hey Andy,

I see you are missing the alias field. Check the Import Joomla! content tutorial to see all required fields. You are only missing the alias field.

OK Thanks, just reimported, the articles have now been added but the category is left as "unnassigned"
The category for this test csv, is a valid published category, that I have checked the path by using the example export template for joomla content & joomla category?

I also cant see any setting that I may have missed in my own import?

Any ideas why these are not getting added to the category?

Thanks
Andy

Hey Andy,

The category issue is actually related to the first notice you posted. Attached is a patch file you can load via the maintenance menu that will fix the category and notice issue.

Now there is something else I saw in your file that made me think. Your alias doesn't look like what an alias should look like :) I will check what I can do about that in CSVI 6.
