Resolved Icecat products with attached pdf

Hello,
You can use file_url field for pdf files too. This field is not limited for images but it can support all kind of media files. On the front end you can make these pdf files as links so it can be downloaded.

I still use file_url with combine fields for images. If i insert in my csv another field file_url it doesn't work for pdf.

You cannot have another field with same name as file_url but you can use combine rule to read the field and use it with file_url field.

I have: filed name as "file_url" (with rules "image combine rule" and 9 fileds name as "combine" (with rules "Don't use"; then i have as rules 6 "image combine rule" for import with plugin "CSVI Field combine" (with Source fields "file_url,combine,combine,combine,combine" and target field "file_url" (with combine character |).
What type of field combine i have to insert? Source fields with target field? and in icecat, which is the file url for pdf?

You can use field custom, in the same rule you already have you can add custom field at the end of the Source fields, "file_url,combine,combine,combine,combine...custom" and target field "file_url" (with combine character |).

and in icecat, which is the file url for pdf?

Please read the document Import ICEcat product information under "PREPARING THE IMPORT" to know the fields CSVI can import using ICEcat.

There was an issue with pdf files coming with product description field was not getting added. The attached patch will include these pdf with file_url field. Please load the attached patch file and see if it works.

This is what happens after the patch: it inserts the icon image of pdf and the link isn't available.

If i look at the product within the category, it appears to me as the main image pdf icon and if I click on this icon in fact the pdf opens (screen2) but the thumbnail view it is not the best to have the image of the pdf instead of the product

Your debug log says that the import went good. The pdf files appearing with product images is something to do with VirtueMart code and i think you need to do some custom coding with VirtueMart files so the pdf files appears as links on front end. To help you more here, I came through this VirtueMart forum which speaks about exact same issue. But do remember we don't support VirtueMart or any issues related with your custom code.
