I was able to load the icecat indexes, so far so good.
When importing articles It seems to not import any images in the articles.
in the log I can find: 2015-10-08 13:34:37 4 [DEBUG] Created image name: M5A99X EVO R2.0.jpg
But no image to be found in the article or in images/stories/virtuemart/product/

I added the import log for more info.

Hello,

In your template set the option Create image name to No, an image name with spaces is not a valid URL either.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hello,

The log file has no file_url field, so this means none of the images will be processed. You will need to add this field to get CSVI to process the images otherwise there is no image to process.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Roland,
Going nuts over here....
if the images are imported from Icecat so they should be imported automatically from what I think.
This based on the article field or whatever field you configure in the template.
In your first post you told me to disable Create image option.
After changing this there is no trace of whatever image in the logs.
So explain me why the field_url should be added, this should be handled automatically by the Icecat plugin no?

Hello,

No, CSVI only imports the data from ICEcat for the fields that are in your import file.

In your first post you told me to disable Create image option.
Correct, that was a guess due to the lack of information provided. It is still needed to disable this option because you are not creating the image names but you are downloading them from ICEcat.

After changing this there is no trace of whatever image in the logs.
That is correct too because you do not have the file_url field in your import file.

So explain me why the field_url should be added, this should be handled automatically by the Icecat plugin no?
CSVI only imports the data from ICEcat for the fields that are in your import file.

Your answers don't make it more clear to me.
My whole seller doesn't provide the field file_url in there price lists.
The goal is to have these images automatically imported from Icecat, this based on the article number or whatever field....
Your plugin works great for sure, but the tutorial part is another thing.....
Most of the info to be found is not detailed and above that it's mostly based on print-screens from old csvi versions.
Can you confirm me if this is possible or not, if yes, can you provide me the info please?

Your answers don't make it more clear to me.
Let me try again.

My whole seller doesn't provide the field file_url in there price lists.
My crystal ball is broken, so I can't know it if you don't mention it.

Can you confirm me if this is possible or not, if yes, can you provide me the info please?
Yes it is possible. First, you need to add all the fields to the template for those you want to import. The ones you don't want to import set them to skip. You must add all the fields that are in your import file in the same order. You can use the Field Mapper to help you with this.

Once you have all the fields mapped you can go to Templates -> Template fields and add the field file_url to the end of the list. Now CSVI knows you want to import that field.

In your template set the option Use file for configuration to No, so that the fields assigned to the template are being used. While you are in the template, on the Image tab, make sure the Process images is set to Yes.

Hope this is clearer.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hello Roland,

Thank you for the detailed and clear answer, the images get imported but it takes quite long.
It takes 20 minutes to import the 171 selected articles and it finishes with 200 errors saying:
Somehow some imported images cannot be found on my websrv?
Status error: 200
Status message: OK

Hello,

the images get imported but it takes quite long.
That is to be expected, for every product ICEcat needs to be called and the data processed.

Somehow some imported images cannot be found on my websrv?
It can't find the images on your server because ICEcat images are stored on the ICEcat servers. In your template, under Images, set the option Save images on server to Yes. This will tell CSVI to download the image and store it on your server. It can then do further processing on the file. Now CSVI thinks it is a local name, which it isn't of course as you can see it is a URL.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hello Steve,

I have removed your debug log because there was an issue with it. However I was able to check it and I found the issue you see. The attached patch file fixes that. You can load the patch file and after that your images should show up.

Hello RolandD,

After patching I got the nex error message:

"An error has occured during the import. Below the information received from the server.
Status error: 500

Explanation: This error means that something has gone wrong but the server does not want to tell you what exactly happened. The only way to find out is to ask your hosting provider for the error message in the error log. For further information you can check the 500 Internal Server Error document on our site. Without the real error we will not be able to help you.

Status message: Internal Server Error"

Hello,

You posted the access log, not the error log. Those are 2 different things.

With the 6.5.x version was it OK.
I am quite sure it is something simple but without the error we won't know where to look.
Kind regards,

RolandD

I don't believe that a server triggers an error without writing it to the error log. Did you ask your hosting provider to check the error log?
Kind regards,
