Hi I am struggling to do something that seems so simple and getting feed up with the process trying.
I have created a file with all my categories and sub-cats in the correct order but would like to be able to now upload this file with no products in the categories and CVSI pro could then create the relevant categories in Virtuemart/Joomla as doing this one by one would take ages.
Any useful tips or hints would be greatfully recieved.

Hello,

You can import a category file with just two fields, category_path and published, using the Category Import.

The category_path field takes a value like Parent/Child/Grandchild. The published field is a Y or N, depending if you want them published or not.

That is all you would need to import your category tree.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hi Thank you for your reply.

So would I have to create an import template first or could i just upload a csv with those two fields and it will take care of itself.

For example

category_path ] published

Catalogue/Connectivity/Satellite & Antenna/Couplers y

You always have to create a template. See the Getting started page on how to get started.

Your example looks good but why not just use a ; as separator?
Kind regards,
