Resolved How to import icecat product data for categories

Hi,

while searching for an icePIM alternative (this is the official icecat product information managment system, but not supported any more) i came across CSV improved. I use icePIM as a data source for my erp system; while creating a product, product information are taken from icePIM which is localy available.

My plan is to replace icePIM with Joomla + Virtuemart + CSV Improved. After everything was set up, and the index files were imported, i came across the next step which involves the actual import of icecat product data. And there's the problem: it seems that the whole process of importing icecat data needs virtuemart products to work.

What i want is to import icecat product data for categories.
Could it be done?

I dont understand this, are you looking at importing ICEcat products into VirtueMart or not?

What i want is to import icecat product data for categories.
Could it be done?

We dont support importing of ICEcat data as alone for any specific categories. The way it works now is that you have your import file with product_sku and manufacturer_name fields filled with the products you want to import to VirtueMart tables and CSVI will check these product_sku and manufacturer_name against ICEcat tables and import their information into VirtueMart tables.
