Hi,

We have succefully used RO CSVI to transfer data between an old J3 and an new J4 site. Great.
For a new customer we need to deal with the extension Form2Content which it's not available for J4.
Do your offer a way to export data from this extension and import them either in another product (K2 ?) or in the J! native fields structure or as raw data ready to be inserted in Mysql dedicated tables for example.
If not. Is the export result usable for such. How it looks like (format, structure) ?
Do you have another solution to deal with this extension ?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Laurent

Hello Laurent,
Do your offer a way to export data from this extension and import them either in another product (K2 ?) or in the J! native fields

There is no direct way to migrate data from F2C to K2 or as Joomla fields but with RO CSVI you can use example F2C export templates to export data and use Example K2 import templates or Example Joomla articles import templates to import the data. Export example templates comes with needed fields. You can manage these template fields as per your requirement. You can then use RO CSVI field mapper to map F2C fields with either K2 or Joomla article fields. Also read the document Install the example templates for RO CSVI addons to know on how to install example templates.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hello,

Form2Content stores its data in the default Jooma fields, so you should be able to run a regular Joomla Content export on the old site and a Joomla Content import on the new site to get the data moved over. There is no need for raw dumps, RO CSVI exports the data in CSV files that you can easily import into the new Joomla site.

The only thing you will miss is the structure that Form2Content offers but there is no direct alternative for that.

As for K2, I would warn you before you go there, you may be in for a heartache like with Form2Content.

Let us know if you have any further questions.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Thanks for these precious advices.
I was telling about K2 as an example. I won't push this solution.
I'll keep you inform in case of difficulties in our "migration" to J4.

Laurent
