Hello,
I'm struggling with the export of retail prices. I've tried to follow your tutorial about exporting retail prices, but I'm not getting anywhere...
The settings of the shop are the following:
- products (and their prices) are available for all shopper groups and are subject to general tax rules, discount rules and possibly individual price overrides (see attached images)
- shop owner (and other shop managers) have a separate shopper group 'Verkäufer'
- I've set up a very simple test template in CSVI with only 2 fields (product_sku and sales_price)
If I set the template to export prices for all shopper groups, I end up with a 500 internal server error
If I set the template to export prices for shopper group 'Verkäufer', the exported CSV file doesn't contain any data

I also attach the 2 corresponding log files and would be very happy if any help could be provided here.

Best regards

Petra

Hello Petra,

In both the debug logs I see that the Customer shopper group is not set. This needs to be set to Verkäufer if you want to get the prices for this specific shopper group.

If I set the template to export prices for all shopper groups, I end up with a 500 internal server error
Please check with your hosting provider if they can tell you what error has been encountered. More details can be found at 500 Internal Server Error.

If I set the template to export prices for shopper group 'Verkäufer', the exported CSV file doesn't contain any data
You have set the shopper group to Verkäufer and I think there are no products linked to this specific shopper group. So you should set the Customer shopper group to Verkäufer and not the shopper group itself.

Give that a try and let me know how it goes.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hello Roland,
thanks for looking. I find it all very confusing (although I'm not a newbe) and don't think, that I understand your answers completely. It's correct that there are no products connected directly to the shopper group 'Verkäufer' or any other shopper group. As I've said all products (and prices) are available to all shopper groups. So I don't know what you mean when you say "set the Customer shopper group to 'Verkäufer' and not the shopper group itself". Could you explain that please. And is there a way at all to export sales prices if the products are not connected to a specific shopper group? Maybe it's not possible with our setting, although I think it's very common setting to have products available to all shoppers and have general tax rules, isn't it?
Attached you find the setting in the CSVI template

Sorry to bother you so much

Petra

Hello Petra,

Not a problem, I can be cryptic :)

So I don't know what you mean when you say "set the Customer shopper group to 'Verkäufer' and not the shopper group itself". Could you explain that please.
Of course I will try to explain. In your product export template on the Options tab there is a column on the right that has filters for the prices. The last option there is called Customer shopper group. Look at your screenshot, that is the last option there.

In short, you should switch the settings Shopper group name price and Customer shopper group. So that Shopper group name price says Don't use and the Customer shopper group says Verkäufer.

And is there a way at all to export sales prices if the products are not connected to a specific shopper group?
That should be the default behaviour in CSVI, when no filters are applied, CSVI will export all products, when it needs to export the salesprice, it will look for the price for that specific product. This used to be based on the logged-in user but you don't always want that, so the option Customer shopper group was introduced so you can export prices for a given shopper group.

Maybe it's not possible with our setting, although I think it's very common setting to have products available to all shoppers and have general tax rules, isn't it?
It is common and I think it shouldn't be a problem to export those prices in your case.

I hope this is clearer :)
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hi Roland,
thanks for your explanation - that made it much clearer. (No, you're not cryptic, I think the matter is complicated ;) )
I switched the settings now as suggested by you but then again I get this 500 error. I attach the log file.
In fact, when I started I used no filters and thought that things would come out fine, but as it was not the case, I began to try the filter after reading the tutorial on retail prices...
The only think that works for me is the export fo the product_price (which is the net, undiscounted price).

Best regards

Petra

Hello Petra,

I like that and agree, the matter is complicated :)

I switched the settings now as suggested by you but then again I get this 500 error.
This error means that CSVI is killed, nothing can be written to the CSVI log anymore. The server log should have the real error. Can you check with your host what the real error is?

Perhaps you are hitting a limit on the server as CSVI needs to request a lot of prices. You could check that my using the product SKU filter to only export a single SKU and see if that works.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hi Roland,
thanks a lot for your great help! You were right, I was hitting a system limit as it seems. By restricting the export to certain categories only, the sales prices were indeed exported correctly (with the settings you suggested). On the LIVE server system limits aren't that restrictive and we don't run into that problem. But (there's always a but...) we have a weird problem on the LIVE server: in the template settings under prices, the input field "Customer Shopper Group" is missing alltogether (see attached image)... The rest appears as on the development server. Do you have any idea why that is the case?

Thanks and best regards

Petra
