Hello,

I have a Virtuemart product export (xml feed) that works ok for most parts. I'm only eporting child products (and products with no variants).
For the child products I have the following problem: I want to export the manufacturer of the products which only works for parent products/products with no variants.
In Virtuemart child products inherit the manufacturer from their parents (like price etc.) when nothing special is entered. But there seems to be no way to include that manufacturer in the export.
Or did I overlook something? Maybe there is a workaround?

Thanks and best regards,

Petra

Hello Petra,

The parent manufacturer is not included because we do not have an option of exporting parent details to child products. Except for image links using picture_url and picture_url_thumb RO CSVI does not export parent details for child products for other fields. The details saved in database for child product is what used in export.

Or did I overlook something? Maybe there is a workaround?

Workaround would be creating a custom rule to read the parent product details from database. In the rule add a condition to check the value of child product and if empty use the parent product value.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hi Tharuna,

thanks a lot for your reply. I actually didn't know about the possibility to create a custom rule - that sounds like a very powerful means and
I'll definitely look into that!

Kind regards,

Petra
