Hi Roland, i'm using J 3.4 and CSVI 5.20 with Custom Fields For All 3.0.1.
I had to change a custom field type from string to integer with CFFA, but i can't get the import, because of an error.
I don't know what i'm doing wrong.

Attached, you'll find the files that i hope can help you understand this issue.

Thanks

Hello,

The column Template field name should be empty unless you are copying data to other fields.

Looking at the number of fields in your template, it does not match the number of fields in your CSV file. That needs to be fixed, the fields in your template must match the fields in your CSV file. If there are fields with a default value that are not in the CSV file, they must be placed at the end.
Kind regards,

RolandD

I updated my csv file with the unmatched fields. Now the import returns no error, but i don't see the value of the CFFA updated at all, in my product.

What am i missing?

PS: i uploaded the whole thing on a test website, i can give you the access if you think can help.

Thanks

Hello,

Your CSV file is incorrect. If you look at the tutorial for Custom Fields For All you will see that the custom_value must always be customfieldsforall. In your case this is the custom_title field.

So you will have to fix that before CSVI can import them correctly. You will have to switch the fields custom_value and custom_title around. That should make things a lot better.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hello,

The debug log tells me you are using version 5.20 and not 5.21.2. Can you double check you have the correct version installed?
Kind regards,

RolandD

You should install 5.21.2 and then see if it still happens.

Well i installed 5.21.2 and the import was successful. ;)

Now i have some minors questions:

1) - I have read the CFFA guide, about the MULTIPLE PARAMETERS import is it possible do it without the "~" as dividers, and do it separatly for each custom fields?

2) - Since custom_title and custom_value are fixed values in my case, can i leave only the custom_param in my csv file, and set custom_title and custom_value as default values at the end of my import process ?

Thanks

1) It is not possible to do it separate for each custom field.
2) Yes you can. You can add these 2 fields to your import template field list with a default value.
Kind regards,

RolandD

About the first question, is it possible to do it with the "combine" option and combine character, leaving 2-3 custom_param as separated value in the csv file?!

Thanks

Hello,

That should be possible but you need to see if you don't run into problems with the default fields you want to add as well.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Ok great, it worked! Last question … in my csv and import setting, the CFFA values are the last ones, but in my product page they appear always at first, not in the order of the import.

Thanks

Hello,

Have you included the custom_ordering field? That may be enough to set the ordering of the custom fields. It may not have any influence on the order of the CFFA choice ordering but it is worth a try.
Kind regards,

RolandD
