I use automated scripts to create the import .csv file I use. I have used this on Joomla 2.5 using free version with zero issues for over a year. I upgraded site to Joomla 3.4.4 and installed 6.1.2.

My file does not use a BOM.

I used the field mapper to import and create the new template, so it can clearly read and parse the file with the right order of the input fields.

I am trying to use a single line product import just to see if it reads it right and every time it is server error 500

Any idea what could be wrong? If the field mapper can read and create a template from it, I would expect the import should be ok too.

The TMP folder is set to 755 permissions for the root and subfolders as well. Using 1and1 servers.

Thanks for any help.

Ok, I think I found the issue in being I didn't have any fields setup causing it to crash. This hasn't happened since.

I will create a new thread as my import fields are not all available and not sure now to solve that.

Thank you for the feedback.

You can go to Maintenance -> Available Fields and click Update to update the fields. If that doesn't resolve the issue, go to Maintenance -> Tasks -> Click Reset and confirm. After that run the update of the fields again and it should be solved.
Kind regards,

I'm running into another odd one, I've done that twice and it's all good without errors. One field is not showing up an that is "mf_name" in the manufacturers table.

I can see it parse that table when it updates the fields, but that field is not selectable in the edit templates fields.

I'm seeing another major issue that I'll post in a separate thread.

The field is called manufacturer_name not mf_name for the product import.

You can see that but better believe me when I say the field is manufacturer_name. Not all fields are used verbatim.
