When trying to edit an existing template (for virtualmart)
i get the following error:

I tried to reinstall after removing all the csvi tables.. no luck

Hello,

Did you install CSVI first and then the VirtueMart add-on? That is the order in which they should be installed. You can go to Maintenance -> Tasks and click Reset and confirm.

Try to edit the template again.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hello,

What happens if you create a new template? Does that give any issues?

Hello,

I do not see the error you talk about, what I did see is that English was not initialized in VirtueMart so the VirtueMart templates could not be opened. So I had VirtueMart create the English language tables. Now you can use the VirtueMart templates.

In the template list I saw you used a custom table export but I don't think this is needed as you can use the VirtueMart routines.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hi Roland,
As said, we finally managed to make an export work.

However, when doing a complete export we see errors. I.e.: regardless of the delimiter used (;or,or £) much data is moved into other columns (starting line 147 in this attachment). Could the reason be that ascii codes are used (for character and html purposes in our product desc or names), since i can see the errors in these columns happen to begin with these kind of codes. ("E& eacute";)
Thanks for your help.

Hello Ivor,

You can always use the standard delimiter of semi-colon or colon and text enclosure of double-quotes. If you set those and open the file as a UTF-8 file, there shouldn't be any issues. In case you use Excel, make sure you enable the Excel CSV option in your template as Excel will otherwise make a mess of your file.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Thanks for all your help Roland; the complete export file has all the fields with respective data in the right order.
Curious whether you needed to adjust any settings in the end, since before it didn't work. With any future problems I will revert to you. Kind regards, Ivor

Hello,

I did not change any settings, only set the delimiters to the normal delimiters and saved the template. That is all I did.
Kind regards,

RolandD
