Hello,

is it possible to import mixed multi variants?

some products should have no "color" option available. if the user choose size S no color dropdown filed will shown.
Can i leave the column "color" blank? Or do i have to create several csv files? i hope i could explain what i mean :-)

Hello,

Nice table :)

With CSVI 6 beta 6 Pro this should be possible. Give it a try I would say, if you encounter any issues, I will be here to help :)

You can only add them after you imported the parent products. As you can see in the tutorial, an update of available fields is required after importing the parents. This is the only way to tell CSVI about the new fields.

In practice this means you need to run the import twice with the same file. Once the parent products are in, the import only needs to be done once unless you change the parent products and their ramifications.

Hi Rolandd,

the preview don't accept the missing "color" and "size" fileds, in this case its called "cap" and "boy". i dont really understand this :-)

Hello,

You have an error in the setup of your template because the fields don't match. Either change the setting Use file for configuration to Yes or set the fields in your template in the same order as they are in your file.

the preview don't accept the missing "color" and "size" fileds, in this case its called "cap" and "boy".
That is expected if you have not run an import yet and did not update the available fields. This is how it looks on the first import, the second import should recognize all fields.

Without the debug log and the sample of the file I can't tell you anything. The only thing you give me is a screenshot, it's too little info.

In your CSV file you have named the field cap-boy, see column G (multi_variant_fields). That is why it shows up as cap-boy in CSVI.

The field cap is imported because you have the field cap in your file. You do not have the field boy in your file, you have the field cap-boy. I think what is wrong is how you entered the field name. If you have more than 1 field, it should be separated by a ~-symbol, not by a minus symbol.

In that case your multi_variant_fields field should read cap~boy.

@lazy,
How did you get on with this. I am interested in using multi variants too & if I can make it easier with CSVi, then great.
Currently I imported all my product/children in a separate CSV file & now need to link them with multi variants.

@Rolandd
Is it easier to have multiple imports as we used to do in VM2 when using the stockable variant plugin?
I used to import parent/child file first, then a custom field, set up import and last another CSVi import to link them all together.
With VM3 & CSVi6, can all this be done with one template, as @Lazy has set up already earlier in this thread?

Currently a new import with multi variants requires to be done twice, this is because of the settings in the parent needs to be indexed.

You could use a single template with the imports but I think for clarity it might be easier to use multiple aptly named templates.
