Good morning,
I have a csv file for product imports which also include custom_title, custom_value, custom_ordering. I have set up 3 custom fields that are non-cart attributes called Size, Power and Material as well as a cart attribute custom field called Size Options. When in category view, products which do not have cart attributes still display the 'Select Options' button, but when you click the button to visit the product detail page there are clearly no options to select, and the add to cart button is displayed. Why would the select options button be displayed incorrectly on the category view when these are non-cart attributes?

Any help would be very much appreciated, i am going around in circles here, i have posted on the VM forums and tired to liase with the template creator but to no avail. I have also included my csv for review. This imports without any particular problems (just the odd missing product image).

Third time should be a charm. ;)

Import a smaller CSV file with 1 or 2 products. This makes it a lot easier as well to check what is going on.

Post the debug log of the small import and let's see what we have.

Hi Rolandd,

apologies my brain is a little slow today. I have imported 2 new test products using the CSV file attached and have attached the debug log for this import. Could the import somehow be corrupting the custom field type? These were all set up as strings (without cart attributes).

Hello Donna,

We are getting somewhere, these files I can do something with. So I see that the three custom fields are added to the products with their new fields. When you check these 2 products in VirtueMart, do you see any other custom fields added to these products?

I would think the Show Option would only appear if the custom field cart attribute is linked to the product.

Nope only these 3 custom fields, please see screenshots attached of the product admin area and custom field setup.I am completely baffled?

Hello Donna,

Those screenshots is exactly how I would expect it to turn out.

Let's do a little trial to exclude (or include) CSVI. Create a test product, nothing fancy but add the 3 custom fields manually and see how the product shows up in the shop. Does it also show the Show Options text?

Hi Rolandd,

I have created 2 additional products Test3, with which i created a new custom field (so the import could not have altered anything), and Test4 with which i have created and merely added the 3 originally created custom fields. I have checked and the new custom field allows the Add To Cart button to show, where as adding the Size, Power and Material custom fields still showed the Select Options. On closer inspection, i had a look at the fields an the only difference was the layout position, the original layout position was 'addtocart' whereas i had not specified the layout position of the new field. I have removed the layout position 'addtocart' from the custom fields and the 'Add to cart' button shows correctly.

Therefore i can conclude that this is related to the layout position code for the product details page.

Thank you so very much for helping me find the cause of this issue, i can now take this back to the template developer. :)
