Hi Roland,
I am using CSVI Pro 6.5.3 and Virtuemart 3.0.12 and Custom fields for all plugin.
I created 4 custom fields with this plugin in my virtuemart backend: however I did not set any value for them, since I want to import these values with CSVI. So, for instance, I created "color" custom field but I did not set any color as string value (see customfieldsettings.jpg).
Then I configured the csv file trying to follow https://www.csvimproved.com/support/import/203-virtuemart/1047-custom-fields-for-all-for-virtuemart.
So, my custom_title is "color~otherfield~otherfield~otherfield"; custom_value is "customfieldsforall~customfieldsforall~customfieldsforall~customfieldsforall"; custom_param is "Blue~otherfieldvalue~otherfieldvalue~otherfieldvalue". I did not use other "headers" like custom_price. See filetoimport.xls (it's a xls just as example).
After the import, in virtuemart product detail of backend -> "custom fields" sheet, I can see the four custom fields listed, but with no values. Give a look to product_customfields.jpg.
So I am asking what's wrong with the csv file?

Thank you for the help.
Regards
Vittorio

Hello Vittorio,
Can you post the debug log of the import? You can check the "Where to get the debug information?" section on top of this page to know on how to get the debug log.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hi Tharuna,
I am posting 2 log files.
Since I cleaned up all previous products/categories/manufacturers/medias and so on, even in the database, I performed a first import. Its log file is #21. Then I noticed that clicking on any product in homepage lead to a 404 error - product not existing. So I performed another import of the same file, that produced log #22. Now I can open product details, but issue described yesterday is still here.

Thanks

Hello Vittorio,
Can you confirm that you have CSVI customfieldsforall plugin installed and enabled? You can check this from Joomla plugin manager and select type as csviext from sidebar filter.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hi,
I checked what you asked me: plugin "CSVI Import Product Filter by Custom Fields" was disabled, and plugin "Custom Fields for All" was installed and enabled.
I enabled the first one, then perform an import. Unfrotunately issue is not solved: it runs, but in the end there is also an "incorrect" row in the list. See import_result.jpg. I am attaching also log after this last import, hoping it helps.

Thanks
PS: if I click on products details, I often find error 404 - product not existing. Does it depend on the import?

Hello Vittorio,

I have checked your debug log and there seems to be no issue with the custom fields for all import. What is the problem you are seeing?

but in the end there is also an "incorrect" row in the list.
That is related to an image. You can filter the list below that to only show the Incorrect entry. The message will contain why it is an error. You can get back to the result page by going to Logs and click on the name of the import you did.

PS: if I click on products details, I often find error 404 - product not existing. Does it depend on the import?
If you are using SEF, this is a caching issue. Best is to turn off SEF until the import runs fine.
Kind regards,

Hi,
problems are mainly 3:
- large image not visible in frontend (error_1.jpg) (I know there's another topic opened, but it's related to same import issue)
- custom fields not shown in frontend (error_2.jpg)
- 404 error for some products (error_3.jpg)
About the last one, I tried to disable both "Search Engine Friendly URLs" and "Use URL Rewriting" in global configuration; then I perform the import, and finally I reset the 2 parameters to "ON". I still find 404 error for some product.

Hello,

So, the issue is that you don't see the custom field selected values you imported. Do these values exist in the custom field you created?

As for the 404 error, check the URL and the product ID it is looking for. Does the product ID exist in your system?
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hi Roland,
actually the values are not set in the custom fields configuration. I thought they were automatically created once imported. This happened with virtuemart default custom fields, as long as I remember. If you are telling me that I need to set all possible values BEFORE import, that's another story. Even if this means analyze all csv files any time in order to see if some new values are present there. Anyway, could you confirm that?

About 404, ID are present. I selected one of the product with the issue. Then, I disabled SEF in order to see which is the path. Path contains the same ID as the one of the product in VM, as well as the category ID.
I am attaching check_id.jpg. However disabling SEF allows the visualization of the product. Enabling it leads to a 404.

About large images, I noticed what you can see in image_details.jpg. Give a look at the paths. Currently in the server and in csv file, large image name has a "_2.jpg" in the end. Thumbnail has a "_1.jpg". In the image detail I attached, the last one seems to be incorrect. What is strange is that the thumbnail is the only photo I can see! Consider also that in cdv import setting I do not let CSVI create thumbnails and I am keeping original files without resizing. Furthermore, in VM settings, I did not check "Enable Dynamic Thumbnail Resizing" option.

Regards

Hello Vittorio,
Can you PM me your site administrator login details and database login details? For custom fields for all there should be entry into customfields plugin table but that seems missing in your logs and so i asked if the plugin is enabled. Your file has no problem with import, tested it here. I will have a look at the image issue too in your site.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hi,
I solved the issue related to custom fields for all thanks to Tharuna. I did not have "CSVI Import Custom Fields For All" plugin installed, so values were not created after import.

Relatively to other issues like 404 error and not found image, I answered in the other topic called "Import VM3 images" just to help anyone searching for that kind of information. Sorry for splitting the informations!

Thank you, regards!
