Hi

Joomla 3.4.5
CSVI 6.2.0

I have created a string custom field "Search Size".

I have a product with children created by the "Multi Variant" custom field.

I wish to add the string custom field "Search Size" to each child with it's own value but to do that I will need to have the "o"checkbox ticked (Override values of the derived customfield). There are two obscure checkboxes available the other is "disable the derived custom field for this child product".

Please tell me there is a setting we can use to have this "o"checkbox checked as I am desperately hoping this field can be used to filter search Multi Varaint products.

Thanks
Steve

Hello Steve,

They are very obscure checkboxes, I know exactly which ones you are talking about.

Please tell me there is a setting we can use to have this "o"checkbox checked as I am desperately hoping this field can be used to filter search Multi Varaint products.
There is currently no field that handles this override checkbox.

A change has been provided by another user, which will be included in CSVI Pro 6.5.0 that sets the override field if the product is a child product. I have attached the patch file for adding this. You need to update to CSVI Pro 6.4.2 first and then apply this patch.

That sounds great.

Thank you and thank the other user.

Without looking and just opening the patch I take it that if the child product has a value for the custom field it will activate the checkbox, in other words I do not need to have an extra column in the import file?

My best
Steve

Hello Steve,

No need to have another column in the import file. If the product is a child and the parent is found, the checkbox is set, otherwise it is not set.
Kind regards,

Perfect, if the filter search part works with this custom field approach my day is made.

Again Thank you for your product and your diligence.

Dear Sir,

I have the same problem with my drop box custom fields on cgeneric child variant instead of multivariant.

I have added a plugin drop custom fields to have it on joomla 3.4.8 and VM3. I have CSVI pro 6.4.3.

I would like that my custom fields was not duplicated on children during import and just to have the check box o with a cross in order to explain that the drop custom fields of the children overrride the customfields of the father.

I have try your hack but it doesnot work in my case. Customfields are duplicated on the children (one with the father value and anotherone with the same name and the children value)

Thank you by advance
