Hi Roland,

Attached is the problem that I have with the csvi. After godly deletes the directory, what should I do to reinstall this?

Hello John,

There is nothing attached but to install CSVI, you can do that via the Extension Manager in Joomla. You will need to install both CSVI Pro and the required add-on, for example VirtueMart.
Kind regards,

This is what godaddy emailed me:

Dear Sir/Madam,

We have discovered the issue on your website that has caused this server accessibility issue. It appears that your Joomla install was creating infinite subdirectories until the system was not able to handle any more, for example:

administrator/tmp/com_csvi/1442264599/administrator/tmp/com_csvi/1442264599/administrator/tmp/com_csvi/1442264599

This repeated infinitely. In order to restore access we will need to try and delete the entire 'com_csvi' directory of this website. As we cannot delete your data without permission I am first emailing you for permission to remove this 'com_csvi' directory and everything within it. Please note that as there are millions of directories inside this directory it may still take some time to delete.

Please let us know by simply replying to this email if we can delete this directory. Please note that for validation we will also need the 4 digit support PIN for your account in the reply.

Regards,

George G.

Hello John,

administrator/tmp/com_csvi/1442264599/
Something seems wrong with the paths on your site. CSVI uses the tmp folder but not in the administrator folder because the tmp folder is by default located in the root of the site so it should be tmp/com_csvi/1442264599/.

Do you have a different setup for the tmp folder?
Kind regards,

RolandD

I didn't change it myself. But when I looked at the FTP, there is a tmp folder in the root with the com_csvi folder and also one inside the administrator/tmp folder. I've been using csvi pro since June 26 of 2013. My subscription ran out this year also on June 26, but was still working fine. I updated to the new version on sept.11 and started having problems. The last time I had a problem you suggested I run "Fix Database" which worked, so I tried that too. I've also tried to uninstall using extension manager and reinstalled the program. I was also getting errors like:

Status error: 200 Status message: OK
Strict Standards: Non-static method Com_VirtueMart::createSlug() should not be called statically, assuming $this from incompatible context in /home/johnmoran/public_html/joomla_2/administrator/components/com_csvi/tables/com_virtuemart/categories_lang.php on line 117
{"view":"","records":233,"process":false,"url":"https:\/\/http://www.johnmoran.com\/joomla_2\/administrator\/index.php?option=com_csvi&task=process.finished&run_id=1442012264"}

I few days later is when I had a problem accessing the server. That's when I contacted godaddy and they told me about the infinite directory.

Thanks for looking into this.

I was also getting errors like:
Actually these are not errors but notices and they appear if you have the error reporting turned on. However these messages should no longer show up on CSVI 6 as the path on the notice is from CSVI 5 or earlier.

A folder like this tmp/com_csvi/1442264599/ is for the import. If you run a single import, do you get the infinite folders again?
Kind regards,

RolandD

So godaddy deleted all the files and directory associated with com_csvi. They said that there were 8.5 million directories.

When I did a new install, all the files goes back into the tmp folder inside the administrator directory. I don't know why its going there. The path to my tmp folder in joomla says './tmp' But so far, I can't tell if the directories are duplicating.

When I made the 6.1.2 template, I didn't add any fields because I believe your site said its not necessary for import because it uses the header. On my upload file, I used the same headers from my 5.2.0 template.

I tried to do a new import and used the maintainence / analyze feature. It didn't show any errors. I proceeded to the preview section and got an error of "No supported fields have been found in the import file." So I went to the maintenance tab/available fields and updated the fields. Tried to import again and got the same "No supported fields have been found in the import file" error.

Thanks,

Oscar

Hello Oscar,

Can you send me a private message with Joomla and FTP login and the file you are importing? I would like to see what happens with the tmp folder.

The column headers can be used if they contain the CSVI names. Perhaps you get this error because you have a problem with the tmp folder.

If you can send me those details I will see what is going on.
Kind regards,

RolandD
