good morning!
I created an ecommerce site (http://www.smar-tech.it, I'm italian) using:
- joomla 3.5.1
- virtuemart 3.0.16
- csvi pro 6.6.0
My product catalog has more than 40,000 items (file .csv of 130Mb) and should be updated to 2 times per week.
I already created the template that allows me to import the price list in virtuemart and working properly.
I wanted to know if there is an automatic method that allows CSVI to compare the old with the new price list, eliminating the products that are not produced by us and instead updating the same products.
I hope I have explained properly what I would do, and thank you all for the answers.
Attached is an extract of the catalog that I have to be imported.

Hello,
I wanted to know if there is an automatic method that allows CSVI to compare the old with the new price list, eliminating the products that are not produced by us and instead updating the same products.

CSVI cannot do comparison but if it finds the required field values matching the records in the database it would just do an update else will create a new record. If you are looking for removing certain products, you can set Unpublish products before import to yes, So all the products are set to unpublished state before doing the import and when you do the import, the products in your import file will get published automatically. Then you can export products which are in unpublished state, add a field product_delete with value Y and import back, this will remove the products with unpublished state. Hope this is what you wanted to do.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hello Tharuna, I make a list of what you have written hoping that he understood.
1) Should I put as unpublished (suspended) all items in the catalog.
2) Import the catalog with the option that the imported articles are published.
3) Items that have not been updated (because there are no more on the catalog) will remain unpublished and can then be deleted.
did I get it right ?
then I ask you:
1) which option must be activated in CSV improved because imported products being automatically published? Until now the catalog that I imported had always unpublished products.
2) The field product_delete, with value Yes, where it is inserted? In the template, in the catalog, where?

Thanks for the answers.

Hello,
1) Should I put as unpublished (suspended) all items in the catalog.

No, if you set the option Unpublish before import to yes in template on options tab, CSVI will change products to unpublished automatically before starting the import.
2) Import the catalog with the option that the imported articles are published.

By default during import CSVI will publish the products.
3) Items that have not been updated (because there are no more on the catalog) will remain unpublished and can then be deleted.
did I get it right ?

Yes, thats correct.

1) which option must be activated in CSV improved because imported products being automatically published?

As explained above, you set the option Unpublish before import to yes in template on options tab, CSVI will do the unpublish automatically before starting the import.

Until now the catalog that I imported had always unpublished products.

You may be having the field published set to 0 in your import file, I am not sure about this as you have not provided me your import file to check.

2) The field product_delete, with value Yes, where it is inserted? In the template, in the catalog, where?

It should be included in your import file. You can simply include it as Y instead of Yes.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Yes i was referring to this option. Set this to Yes and CSVI will automatically unpublish products before doing importing.

No i didnt refer to the one in the Photos (Ordinamento). i checked your file and i dont see any field for publish or unpublish a product, by default during import CSVI will automatically publish the products which are in the import file. If that is not the case do send me your debug log and I will check.
Kind regards,

Tharuna
