Resolved Cant update and an error code

HI

Have been using CSVi in anger now - it is such a great extension!

I have j 3.4.5 and CSVi 5.20

When I try to update it starts to run and then I get

Warning JInstaller: :Install: Can't find XML setup file.


and

Message
Invalid package type. The update can not proceed.


What should I do please?

Hello Edward,

Why are you using CSVI 5.20? The current release is 6.3.0 for Joomla 3. If you want to keep using CSVI 5, you may want to use CSVI 5.21.2.

The error you get can happen if Joomla can't unpack the installation package. You can try to use one of the alternative installation methods Joomla offers, like the install from folder or the discover method.

By the way, if you decide to use CSVI 6, make sure you don't have any conflicts with the broken installation routine by removing all the tables in your database that start with csvi_.

Thanks for the reply. The reason I am using an older version is that I cant update. But I tried again, and its worked although I am still getting all sorts of errors.

Such as
Library path /administrator/components/com_csvi/addon/com_virtuemart cannot be found.
which happens when I try to open a template I made

On the import page is showing that there are no templates whereas when you go to the template page there are lots of them

Any ideas

Yes I have an idea, it is explained in the Installation or updating of CSVI 6 Pro document. You need to install the VirtueMart addon which you can download from the CSVI Pro extensions page.

On the import page is showing that there are no templates whereas when you go to the template page there are lots of them
Are the templates published?
