Hi I just upgraded from joomla 3.4.8 / vm 3.0.12 / csvi version 6.5.4 to joomla 3.5 0 / vm 3.0.14 / csvi version 6.5.5

when attempting to in stall the plugins I get a blank screen during the install process

when I look in the plugin list after returning to the back end I see the plugin that had the white screen during install - it appears to publish ok, but the template fields are not loading when i try to do an export from csvi ( I tried with a few plugins, but it is the VM plugin i am most concerned with

the native template fields all seem to be ok

I tried
-database/fix in case it was a db error during the upgrade
-uninstalling and reinstalling csvi
- going to maintenance / tasks / reset (Tasks reset successful msg)
-when I go to template fields all the vm fields are there BUT when I click on one of the fields I get this error
'Error
No available fields found for export template for com_virtuemart and action product. To update the list of available fields go to Available Fields and click on Update.'

so I go to update, select a field and get this error

An error occured processing the records. The error occured is shown below if available. Additionally check your server log for any errors or warnings.

-but there is no error message the processing spinner just keeps spinning

I also tried installing the plugin from folder: - got these errors

JInstaller: :Install: Can't find XML setup file.
Error
Path does not have a valid package.
Unable to find install package

Hello,

If you still have CSVI installed, go to System -> Global configuration -> Server -> Error Reporting and set it to None. Then go to Maintenance -> Available Fields and click the Update button. Check if you have all the fields you were missing.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hello,

There may be something interfering with the requests CSVI is sending. Please have a look at the Using developer tools to analyze problems document and see if you can find anything that may indicate what is happening in the background. Let me know what you find.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hello,

The screenshot doesn't tell me the response as this tab isn't shown. Since you are using FireFox perhaps the Using Firebug to analyze problems article is clearer. You can post the screenshot of what is in the response tab there. Let's see if that tells us something.

EDIT
Aha, that tells us something. The error 500 explains why it isn't running unfortunately it won't tell us why it generates this error. The server error log should contain the real error. See if your hosting provider can tell you why it throws this 500 error. With that error we know where to look as to why this happens.

You are running PHP 5.4 or higher? That is needed to run the update.
Kind regards,

RolandD

sobi pro is the devil

I wound up making a backup w/ akeeba & reloaded site on a different host - this time I was able to get a more detailed error message, there was a problem with sobi pro - neither site would let me update sobi pro from, 1.1 to 1.2.3, so I had to uninstall it

that worked, as soon as sobi pro was gone I was able to update the virtuemart template fields

the drag is I spent weeks building a sobi pro directory //

Hello,

Good detective work ;)

I wouldn't throw Sobi Pro overboard but rather find out which part of Sobi is causing problems. It usually is a plugin that is meant to do something in the frontend but also triggers in the backend where it is not needed. I am sure it is something the people from Sobi Pro can fix.
Kind regards,

RolandD
