Resolved Import function missing after update

Quite a long time ago I bought the product because I needed the Import function.

This has indeed been a long time, 5 years ago

It's not a pre-sale question, but there was no other option to select so I had to choose this.

This actually is a pre-sales question because support is only given to users who have an active subscription.

It was all working fine, but since yesterday my web developer has updated the plugin and now everything looks different and I get some weird messages.

So your webdeveloper apparently has a subscription I assume and he should be logging these questions if he cannot answer them for you. Or at least your questions should be directed at him since he manages your site.

Nonetheless I will answer your questions now but for any future questions you can contact your webdeveloper or get your own subscription.

As you said, your last interaction with RO CSVI was 5 years ago. A lot has changed since then. The import has moved from the menu to the templates list. In the templates list you can click the Run button behind the template to start your template.

The message about the outdated addons is correct if you check your screenshot. The RO CSVI VirtueMart addon is an old version, that has not been updated and will need updating or uninstalling depending on if you are using it or not.

How do I get the Import function visible in drop down menu again (from Components menu) and how to make sure it will function properly?

You will have to change the component, modify the database entries for the menu or create a custom admin menu. We have removed this a long time ago and it will not come back.

So am I correct in assuming that if I just need to use the Import function, then I can continue to use it as is, by just clicking the RUN button? Will it still work or is this import function also outdated? Or is the Virtuemart addon in the screenshot what I need to update in order to use the Import function? I do not know if I need any of these or which of them are related to the Import function.

My web developer probably doesn't know anything about this component, so that's why I'm asking you myself.
Please let me know how I can get a subscription or at least active support if needed in future.

That is correct. You can even start the import/export when editing your template, you will see a Run button there as well.

The import/export menu items were removed because you would go there, then look for your template and then start it. Now you go straight to templates to look for it and click Run to start it. Should be a click less.

That depends Are you importing VirtueMart data or another extension? If you do not use VirtueMart, you can even uninstall the complete plugin as it will not be used.

To answer your question, all I need is the import function for importing csv files with product data.

Yes, you also need to update RO CSVI VirtueMart addon.

Since the templates are old and a lot of improvements have been done to the template over the years I recommend you to save the templates once and the use RUN button to run the import.

All these addons are part of RO CSVI package so you have not installed anything wrong. You just need to update RO CSVI package and RO CSVI addons to same version.
