Just over a week ago we released version 9.1.0 and we have received quite some feedback on the new 9 version of RO Payments for which we thank you. This feedback has resulted in another release, RO Payments 9.2.0. The main change in this release is that the payment methods no longer need to be entered manually but you can select them from a dropdown.
Payment Methods
With the release of RO Payments 9 we changed the way payment methods are handled, we thought by giving you a free text field it would be easier to set any payment method you like. This turned out to be a mistake, we did not realize it would make it harder to set the correct payment method. So now when you create a new profile or open an existing profile, there is a new tab called Payment Methods. In here you can manage the payment methods. RO Payments will pre-fill a new profile with a list of common payment methods. You can still add your own as you see fit, re-order the provided list or rename the existing methods. This new way of working allows full freedom in to which payment methods you want to offer and no longer rely on a new RO Payments release if you want a new payment method.
Do note that not all payment methods are supported. That is due to the nature of the payment method, certain payment methods require extra information that is not passed on for a number of reasons.
Payment Method selection
Now that we have a list of payment methods available in the profile, we can use this in the extensions that are connected to RO Payments as well. The payment method field has changed from a text field to a dropdown in Event Booking, HikaShop, J2Commerce, and VirtueMart. This makes selecting a payment method much easier.
HikaShop 6
There has been a change in HikaShop 6 which caused the checkout to crash. We have fixed this to support both HIkaShop 6 and older versions.
