Resolved Excluding categories from CSVI Export and Product sku filter issues

I am trying to set up csvi pro for the requirements of Amazon.

Your system works great in most areas, I can manipulate the fields in amazing ways to create the export I need.

2 problems I am experiencing.

1. I cannot exclude a category for export...

Am i missing something or is this not a feature. I can see that we have the option to "choose category" and "category state" but that filters the category for export and does not filter to "exclude"

2. Product filter

If I exclude a product from the export the process works fine. However when I try and include the product it returns an empty file where normally it would return 3000 plus products. So it does not include the product but rather stops it exporting correctly. I do have "manufacturer" set as a filter so is this the cause?

My questions:

Is this intended?
Could you improve this so that the products included are not manufacturer filtered?

UPDATE: It seems you cannot use multiple sku's in "product sku" filter. I have tried to separate skus with returns and commas. Is this correct? If so then teh product sku filter does not work.If i enter one sku in filter it works, if i eneter 2 or more it returns 0 results.

Hello,
We do not have any specific template for Amazon. If it is about product details you can use VirtueMart Product import/export template.

Hello Martyn,
The patch file for excluding a category in VirtueMart Product export is ready. Please load the patch file and in VirtueMart Product export template settings on Options tab, set Include/Exclude categories to Include or Exclude. In the next field Category set the category which needs to be included or excluded. By default all categories are included. Run the export and let me know if export works as expected.

I can't believe that I am the only person that needs to exclude knives from an Amazon feed especially as they suspend your account if you uploads knives. Maybe I am the only person to contact you about it!

Believe it or not you are the first user to ask for category exclude feature . Thinking more on this, it will be a good addition to product export template. We will add this feature and send you a patch file when its ready.

Hello Martyn,
It would be good to have the option to exclude categories, this particular export has multiple requirements.
Products Exported from one manufacturer
Exclude categories with knives as they cannot be included
Add additional select products from other manufacturers

We understand your requirements but since these requirements are very specific to your site, we suggest you to create override for your export and with a bit of custom coding adjust the filters in the override file to get the required export data.

If the included products are not in the filtered manufacturer category then why to set the manufacturer filter? You can remove this manufacturer filter so only the product_sku's which are included can be added to export.


Actually this is very important, I have a requirement to export only one manufacturer plus a few select products from other manufacturers. This is for one export file to be used as the main product list for Amazon sales. If I can't add extra product_skus then we have to manage two documents, which multiplies to four if we include the separate quantity price files I have to also upload. (this is an Amazon requirement not a limitation of your component)

Can you post the debug log of your export? To get the debug log, check How to get debug information? document.

Sorry to have raised this issue, I added a space after the comma in the product_sku list. It works fine if you list skus with NO spaces after the comma. My bad.

It would be good to have the option to exclude categories, this particular export has multiple requirements.

Excluding category is not a feature. As you said we only have the option of exporting products from selected category or category state but not to exclude a category.

Yes, manufacturer filter can be a cause for empty export file. There could be no products set for this manufacturer. What if you remove the manufacturer filter and run the export? Do you see the products then?
